As part of the evolution of one of our key portfolio companies, we are supporting the hiring of an experienced Manager, Ad Monetization Strategy to steer its revenue tech product function. This role offers a unique opportunity to partner directly with senior leadership and investors to drive high-impact platform monetization during a critical phase of sustainable growth and operational excellence.

The Role

This is a strategic business role; you will own the ad revenue P&L for a high-traffic digital platform. Your mission is to elevate our monetization architecture - specifically pioneering native ad integration - while meticulously balancing revenue maximization with a premium user experience. Technical knowledge is just as essential as strategic business planning in this role.

Key Responsibilities

P&L Management: Drive the comprehensive ad monetization strategy and take full financial ownership of the digital platform's ad revenue P&L.
Executive Reporting: Deliver regular performance analyses, high-level revenue forecasting, and strategic growth roadmaps directly to the CEO and senior leadership team.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and operational management to a small team of programmatic execution specialists to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
Stack Management: Oversee and refine the full programmatic ad stack architecture, maintaining a primary focus on Google Ad Manager (GAM) and AdMob.
Yield Engineering: Utilize a data-driven approach to monitor, analyze, and optimize critical performance metrics including show rate, match rate, fill rate, and eCPM.
Mediation & Bidding: Architect and scale sophisticated ad mediation waterfalls alongside advanced in-app bidding solutions, with a strong emphasis on expanding the Prebid infrastructure.
Format Innovation: Strategize, test, and deploy advanced ad formats - specifically focusing on embedded native ads, rewarded video, and interstitials to unlock new commercial streams.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to translate monetization strategies into technical requirements, ensuring optimized ad placements that preserve a premium user experience.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience driving ad monetization strategies for digital platforms.
Strategic business mindset to translate high-level commercial vision into actionable product and engineering roadmaps.
Expert-level configuration and management of Google Ad Manager (GAM) and AdMob.
Deep mastery of advanced ad mediation architecture, hybrid models, and sophisticated waterfall management.
Proven track record implementing, managing, and scaling in-app bidding solutions, specifically Prebid setups.
Practical familiarity with alternative major ad networks and mediation suites.
Thorough understanding of the broader programmatic ad tech ecosystem including DSPs, SSPs, and automated Ad Exchanges.
Technical knowledge of digital video advertising delivery standards including VAST and VPAID protocols.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills to synthesize large datasets and performance trends into data-driven decisions.
Hands-on familiarity navigating and generating reports within Business Intelligence tools like Tableau or Looker.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills to articulate complex ad tech metrics clearly to senior stakeholders and investors.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Data Analytics, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
