Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Support the integration of Sustainability and ESG factors across assigned portfolios by conducting primary research, executing independent sustainability reviews, and assisting in the formulation and upkeep of ESG policies, screenings, and engagement strategies to safeguard the fund's long-term financial returns and protect enterprise operational resilience against climate-related, regulatory, and reputational risks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in implementing strategies that integrate sustainability and ESG factors into investment decisions and enterprise operations to protect long-term financial returns and mitigate climate, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Support the development, updates, and maintenance of Sustainable Investment Policies, Sector Playbooks, and Controversy Screenings by developing independent sustainability reviews and assessments on counterparties and investments while applying a principled-pragmatic approach.
  • Conduct primary research to produce specific deliverables, periodically review existing frameworks, broaden sector-specific ESG knowledge, and actively monitor domestic, regional, and international sustainability developments.
  • Assist in establishing policies, screenings, and playbooks designed to transition the portfolio toward Net Zero (Scope 3 Financed Emissions) by 2050, while supporting resiliency initiatives in thematic areas such as nature, biodiversity, and social impact.
  • Assist with the engagements of investee companies, external fund managers, general partners by conducting the relevant research and producing the relevant discussion points, including engagement decks.
  • Assist in maintaining strong relationships with key counterparts to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assist to identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to operational efficiencies to optimise departmental spend without compromising output quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Pass in Bahasa Melayu, including the oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Investments, Sustainability, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government from any local or overseas higher learning institution.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in financial, investment, or sustainability analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the intellectual curiosity to deep dive into specific themes and sectors and translate data into structured assessments.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, set clear expectations, and assist in stakeholder engagements.
  • Skilled in writing and presentations.
