Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Timely and accurate application of cash to third party and intercompany customer accounts in line with the processes and procedures set for Accounts Receivable
  2. Investigate and follow up Unapplied and Unidentified items
  3. Contact customers with payment related queries via email and phone
  4. Work closely together with the Credit and Collections and with the Site Accounting Teams on mixed ownership issues
  5. Research and respond to questions and escalations relating to AR accounting
  6. Support the reconciliation of unposted cash items
  7. Support the Team with month-end close tasks, ensure deadlines are met and provide support to the General Accounting Team with queries
  8. Maintain documentation as per internal controls and SOX audit requirements
  9. Active participation in the onboarding and training of new joiners
  10. Ensure compliance with policies, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as defined by (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within ethical code of business conduct

Qualifications:

  1. 1-3 years relevant experience
  2. Economics/Finance related Secondary Studies or Bachelor's Degree is an advantage
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and any other language (as per required in role)
  4. Ability to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders
  5. Intermediate user of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  6. Knowledge and previous experience using ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP) is an advantage
  7. Good analytical, research and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  8. Supportive attitude and good interpersonal skill set
  9. Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N2 level or above is required.
