What you'll be doing
You will own the end-to-end commercial relationship with our key national distributor partners across West Malaysia, translating brand and category priorities into activation plans, trade investment decisions, and in-store execution that drives sustainable growth.
This role sits at the intersection of channel strategy, distributor management, and trade investment governance — ideal for someone who thrives on turning data and field insight into commercial action.
- Own the General Trade distributor relationship across West Malaysia — leading monthly business reviews, weekly execution syncs, and resolving on-the-ground issues with pace and judgment.
- Plan and govern trade investment (trade spend proposals, budget utilization, and claims) to ensure every promotional dollar is deployed with discipline and measurable return.
- Design and execute in-store activation programs — including sampling, roadshows, point-of-sale materials, and display initiatives — from concept through field execution.
- Run core SKU distribution and incentive programs, tracking performance weekly and driving corrective action with regional sales teams.
- Lead recurring commercial reporting — business review decks, performance scorecards, and quarterly sales bulletins — that keep leadership and field teams aligned.
- Contribute to annual channel and customer planning, translating brand strategy and sales targets into actionable, on-the-ground plans.
- Partner closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Brand/Category teams to unblock execution gaps and strengthen the overall commercial cadence.
Requirement
- 4–6 years of FMCG experience in Trade Marketing, Customer Marketing, Sales, or Channel Development, ideally with exposure to General Trade or distributor-led markets.
- Working knowledge of trade spend/promotional investment systems, budget tracking, and claims reconciliation.
- Confidence managing distributor relationships at multiple levels — from day-to-day execution to senior stakeholder engagement — with strong commercial and negotiation instincts.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with comfort operating in a high-frequency reporting environment.
- Experience coordinating point-of-sale materials, creative sign-off, and activation vendors/agencies.
- High ownership and the cross-functional influence to work effectively across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing.
- Strong fluency in the Malaysian market context; comfort engaging trade partners in a mix of English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin a plus).
