Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations with a strong focus on international logistics, container management, inventory planning, and risk/crisis management.

This role is primarily based in China and requires long-term on-site presence to manage suppliers, logistics partners, and regional operations.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Global Logistics & Container Management
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor international transportation (sea/air/land) and container logistics.
  • Manage container schedules, routing, and carrier relationships to optimize cost and transit times.
  • Oversee freight documentation and customs compliance.
  • Warehouse & Inventory Management
  • Lead warehousing operations ensuring accuracy of stock movement and storage efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation.
  • Drive improvements in warehouse workflows and technology adoption.
  • Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning
  • Develop and maintain inventory forecasts based on sales trends, seasonality, and lead time.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and Finance to align inventory targets with business plans.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance service levels and working capital.
  • Supply Chain Risk & Crisis Management
  • Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., geopolitical changes, port congestions, supplier disruptions).
  • Establish risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Lead response efforts during supply chain disruptions with realtime decision making.
  • Monitor external trends (global freight rates, regulatory changes, market dynamics) and advise leadership on impacts.
  • Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement
  • Act as a commercial advisor on logistics costs, contractual terms, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams (Procurement, Operations, Finance, Sales).
  • Design and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and resilience.
  • Benchmark logistics KPIs and performance against industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of supply chain and logistics experience; preference for international operations.
  • Proven experience in inventory planning and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience handling supply chain disruptions and crisis management.
  • Strong understanding of global freight, incoterms, customs regulations, and transportation systems.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite) and inventory planning tools.
  • Datadriven mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret KPIs.
  • Good in communication & Presentation Skills
