Job Summary
The Global Trade & Product Compliance (GTPC) department in Malaysia serves as the centralized leadership hub for all import and export operations across Mr. DIY globally. It provides strategic oversight of technology related to shipment planning and execution, ensuring efficient movement of cargo across international borders. The department is responsible for planning, monitoring, measuring, and supervising import and export activities to drive cost efficiencies and deliver key strategic advantages. Additionally, GTPC manages stakeholder relationships and ensures full compliance with domestic regulations as well as international trade, export, and financial laws.
We are seeking an Assistant Manager – Product Compliance in ensuring that our company's products and services meet all applicable regulatory requirements and quality standards. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining product compliance strategies and processes, collaborating with various teams, and conducting regular assessments to ensure products are in compliance.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Stay up-to-date with local, national and international regulations and standards relevant to the company's products.
- Ensure that products meet all applicable regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Develop and implement compliance strategies to ensure the company's products meet legal and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including local import team, legal departments HQ purchasers team, etc. to align product compliance efforts with business goals.
- Develop and maintain databases accurately with up-to-date records of product compliance activities and documentation.
- Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Review gap analysis to ensure compliance to the relevant new/revised law, regulations and industry standards and work closely with relevant stakeholders to put necessary measures in place for compliance to the regulatory requirements and proactively leading the development and implementation of strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments on new products and product changes.
- Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Provide training and education to stakeholders on compliance issues and requirements.
- Provide advisory to business and all other stakeholders on aspects with regards to compliance with laws, regulations and industry standards.
- Easily adjusts to changing team dynamics, evolving scopes, and diverse work styles.
- Champion a positive team environment by actively sharing insights and celebrating collective milestones by being a team player.
- Uphold team accountability by openly resolving conflicts and taking ownership of group outcomes.

Requirements
- 5 years of experience in product compliance.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of people management & stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) for coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
