Role Description The Assistant Sales Manager (Metal Manufacturing Industry) is a full-time, on-site role based in Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. This role supports the Business Unit in developing and maintaining customer relationships, preparing quotations, and following up on inquiries and orders. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with production and engineering teams to ensure accurate pricing, delivery schedules, and product specifications, as well as monitoring sales performance and market trends. The Assistant Sales Manager will assist in identifying new business opportunities, preparing sales reports, and participating in customer visits, meetings, and presentations. The role also involves handling customer feedback, resolving issues promptly, and contributing to continuous improvement of sales processes and customer service.

Qualifications

• Strong sales, account management, and customer relationship skills within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of metal components, fabrication processes, and basic technical drawing or specification interpretation.
• Solid business communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze sales data, prepare reports, and use CRM or ERP systems for tracking opportunities and performance.
• Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate across production, engineering, and logistics teams.
• Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in industrial sales.
• Prior experience in metal manufacturing or B2B industrial sales is highly beneficial.
• Willingness to work on-site in Penang and travel to customer locations as needed.
• Mandarin speaking is an advantage / preferred (for China customer communication)
