Cagamas is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Vice President, Product Development & Management to lead product development, product enhancement, product governance, product lifecycle management and portfolio monitoring activities for Cagamas Group's guarantee business.
The role is responsible for driving product innovation and ensuring that guarantee and related products remain relevant, competitive, commercially sustainable and compliant with applicable regulatory requirements, while supporting the Cagamas Group's strategic objectives and business growth agenda.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Development, Governance & Implementation
- Lead research and development activities for new products and product enhancements.
- Develop product strategies, concepts, business cases, product frameworks and implementation plans.
- Assess market needs, participating financial institution feedback, policy developments and product gaps.
- Evaluate product feasibility from commercial, risk, legal, operational, financial and regulatory perspectives, in consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure product proposals are aligned with the Company's strategic priorities and Cagamas Group's objectives.
- Lead and coordinate Product Working Committees and/or other relevant internal working groups.
- Prepare product and approval papers, and oversee the development of implementation documents.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in developing product manuals, guidelines and procedures.
- Coordinate inputs from Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Operations, IT, Strategic Communications and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all required approvals are obtained prior to product rollout or enhancement implementation.
- Lead and coordinate product rollout, pilot testing and implementation activities, including operational, system and process readiness.
- Monitor implementation progress and facilitate timely resolution of issues with relevant stakeholders.
Product Lifecycle Management & Portfolio Monitoring
- Manage the products lifecycle and conduct periodic reviews to ensure continued relevance, competitiveness and commercial sustainability.
- Review applicable product policies, procedures, guidelines and manuals, and recommend enhancements where necessary.
- Review legal and transaction documents, where relevant in consultation with Legal and other stakeholders
- Assess product performance against approved objectives, business targets and market needs.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and product effectiveness assessments.
- Oversee portfolio monitoring, including utilisation trends, outstanding exposure product performance, claims experience and key portfolio indicators.
- Work closely with Operations, Risk, Credit Management, Finance and participating financial institutions to monitor portfolio quality and performance trends.
- Prepare product and portfolio updates, insights and recommendations for Management and relevant committees.
- Identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures or enhancement initiatives.
Product Advisory and Business Support
- Provide product advisory support and participate in stakeholder engagements, product briefings, roadshows and business development activities.
- Support the Strategy & Partnerships function by providing product input for partnership initiatives, campaigns and stakeholder engagements.
- Support product-related budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.
- Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by the VP or SVP / Head.
Other Duties and Cross-Functional Support
- The employee may be required to support other functions, projects, initiatives, stakeholder engagements, management committees or special assignments from time to time. Employees are expected to collaborate across functional areas while maintaining accountability for their primary responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Recognised degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline.
- MBA, professional qualification or postgraduate degree would be an added advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in product development, product management, banking, financial services, corporate advisory, mortgage financing or related areas.
- Strong product development and product management capability.
- Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of financial services, mortgage financing or guarantee business.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage product governance, implementation and portfolio review processes.
