Job Description

Operating out of a strategic fabrication facility in Terengganu, the company delivers full-cycle civil, mechanical, and marine engineering solutions for complex offshore and onshore campaigns. Responsibilities

The Accounts Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Working alongside the CFO / Financial Controller, this role supports corporate financial management by overseeing full-set accounting functions (GL, AP, AR), financial forecasting, and period-end closings. The position is responsible for managing complex oil & gas contract accounting, progressive billing claims, project costing analyses, and statutory tax/audit compliance. Additionally, the Accounts Assistant Manager actively contributes to the company's IPO pipeline by upgrading internal control frameworks and preparing consolidated financial reports. Prior experience within the Oil & Gas sector is required to successfully manage project variables and drive corporate financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong accounting and finance skills, including full-set governance, management reporting, and direct/indirect tax compliance.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency with SAP ERP and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, for structured financial reporting and project documentation.
  • Candidates should possess solid analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills to oversee inventory tracking, milestone claims, and project margin performance.
  • Candidates should possess effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple reporting deadlines and maintain audit-ready financial records.
  • Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with executive management, project teams, and external regulatory bodies.
  • Relevant academic qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in project accounting is required; background in Oil & Gas or exposure to pre-IPO preparation is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to corporate financial governance.
