Associate Engineer

About the role

This is an entry-level position open across Process, NPI, Test, and Project Engineering functions, designed to build strong technical foundations in semiconductor and photonics technology through hands-on training, mentorship, and cross-functional exposure. Candidates will be matched to a department based on interest, aptitude, and business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day engineering activities within the assigned department (Process, NPI, Test, or Project Engineering), including data collection, analysis, and documentation
• Assist in the evaluation, testing, and troubleshooting of processes, products, or equipment as directed by senior engineers
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including test readiness, process validation, and pilot builds, where assigned
• Participate in the preparation of reports, test results, and technical documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process/quality enhancement projects
• Assist in tracking project timelines, deliverables, and coordination across cross-functional teams, where assigned
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, NPI, test, and supply chain
• Learn and apply relevant engineering tools, software, and methodologies
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Fresh graduates are welcome; no prior working experience required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership
• Based in or willing to relocate to Penang, Malaysia
