Role Purpose
Perform vehicle surface preparation, paint refinishing, spray painting, colour matching, and quality repair work in accordance with manufacturer standards, safety requirements, and workshop productivity targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out paint refinishing work according to approved repair procedures and manufacturer standards.
- Perform surface preparation, putty application, and wet/dry sanding on vehicle panels and components.
- Conduct spray painting of vehicle panels, parts, and components as assigned.
- Ensure a consistently high standard of workmanship before vehicle release.
- Complete assigned repair work within stipulated repair timelines.
- Perform spray painting and rectification work safely and efficiently.
- Protect vehicle interiors and exteriors using appropriate masking and protective covers.
- Perform colour tinting based on manufacturer colour codes and formulas when authorized.
- Conduct colour matching for new and existing paint applications.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and workshop activities.
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain work bays, tools, equipment, and Bodyshop areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Ensure workshop tools and equipment remain in good working order and report defects promptly.
- Comply with Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and workplace regulations.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and operational concerns to supervisors.
- Support team members and assist with other assigned duties as required.
Requirements
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, or equivalent vocational qualification in automotive refinishing, spray painting, or related discipline preferred.
- Relevant experience in automotive spray painting, panel refinishing, or Bodyshop operations preferred.
- Knowledge of paint preparation, colour matching, spray painting techniques, and repair procedures.
- Ability to work safely and comply with EHS requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
