(a MAS-licensed CMS holder permitted to carry out, inter alia, brokerage and custody services), MetaComp introduces its suite of services through CAMP (Client Assets Management Platform) which allow businesses to develop and scale their digital asset offerings through various products and/or services such as over-the-counter transactions, fiat payments, digital asset custody and prime brokerage.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Java expertise to design, build, and maintain the services that power our platform. You'll own APIs and data models end-to-end, working closely with frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable, and well-tested systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java (Spring Boot or equivalent framework).
• Design database schemas and write efficient queries (SQL/NoSQL as applicable).
• Ensure application performance, scalability, and security through sound architecture and code practices.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; participate in peer code reviews.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define and refine API contracts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Document APIs, services, and architectural decisions.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience developing backend systems in Java.
• Strong knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot (or a comparable Java framework).
• Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and SQL query optimization.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Good understanding of multithreading, memory management, and JVM performance basics.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and version control (Git).

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of security best practices (OAuth2/JWT, encryption).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
