Business Analyst / Data PM

Role:

As a Business Analyst & Data PM in the Data Asset & Demand team under GCDO department, he/she will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams. The primary responsibility will be to understand business requirements, analyse data needs, and collaborate with Group Technology to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient data platforms and infrastructure. He/She will work closely with stakeholders across multiple business units to drive data analytics initiatives while managing end-to-end project execution for smaller projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills to lead initiatives that enhance our data ecosystem and drive business value.

Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering & Analysis

·      Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data & analytics requirements and translate them into actionable insights and solutions.

·      Conduct gap analysis, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for data transformation initiatives. Facilitate workshops and discussions to clarify requirements, identify gaps, and propose solutions.

·      Define and document business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories for data-related projects.

·      Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and technology teams to design scalable and compliant data solutions.

Stakeholder Management

·      Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

·      Conduct training, user acceptance testing (UAT), and change management initiatives to maximize adoption of data solutions.

·      Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership.

·      Foster a data-driven culture by advocating for best practices in analytics and data management.

·      Maintain strong relationships with data users, business stakeholders, and technology teams.

·      Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, risks and milestones.

Project Management

·      Lead end-to-end project management of data & analytics initiatives, from inception to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

·      Develop project plans, timelines, resource allocation, risk management strategies, and status reporting.

·      Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, data engineering, business intelligence, and regulatory teams.

·      Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party engagements where applicable.

·      Drive Agile/Waterfall project methodologies, ensuring efficient execution and continuous improvement.

·      Facilitate stakeholder meetings and communication across teams.

·      Ensure project risks and dependencies are proactively managed.

·      Work closely with overall Program/Project manager to ensure alignment on Program deliverables and cross-project dependencies.

Qualification & Skills

·       Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent).

·       Experience (5 to 7 years) as Business Analyst, preferably in banking, finance, or data-related roles.

·       Familiarity with data modelling, basic SQL, and other database management systems is a must.

·       Strong understanding of data platforms, infrastructure, and analytic tools (e.g: DataIku, OAS, Denodo, Feature Store).

·       Experience in UAT Testing and Test Management domain.

·       Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·       Experience with data governance, compliance and regulatory framework is a plus.

·       Understanding in project management methodologies (e.g: Scrum, Agile).
