Role Overview
This role is responsible for building and managing relationships with existing and new suppliers/principals, while actively identifying and onboarding new brands and products across beauty, skincare, haircare, personal care, hygiene, and food categories.
The role focuses on upstream growth—ensuring the company continuously sources high-potential, trend-relevant products and brands, and successfully converts them into viable commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier & Principal Relationship Management
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing brand principals
- Act as the main point of contact for supplier communication
- Align on product pipelines
- Negotiate Commercial terms (pricing, MOQs, margins)
- Forecasting and supply planning
- Ensure smooth coordination between suppliers and internal teams
2. New Supplier & Brand Sourcing
- Research, Identify and onboard new suppliers, brands, and manufacturers for ONLINE and OFFLINE channels
- Build a strong pipeline across following categories: beauty, skincare, haircare, personal care, hygiene, and food categories
3. Market Research & Trend Scouting
- Conduct ongoing market surveys to identify:
a) Emerging brands and hero products
b) Consumer trends (ingredients, formats, claims)
c) Competitive pricing and positioning
- Monitor key markets such as Korea, Japan, China, Europe, India and regional ASEAN
- Translate insights into sourcing and product acquisition strategy
4. Opportunity Evaluation & Commercial Feasibility
- Assess new opportunities including:
a) Cost structure and margins
b) Regulatory considerations
c) Supply chain feasibility
- Prepare business cases for onboarding new brands/products
- Support leadership in decision-making on new partnerships
5. Product Onboarding & Launch Coordination
- Coordinate internal teams to bring new products to market, including:
a) Business Proposals/pitch decks
b) Regulatory approvals
c) Packaging adaptation (if required)
d) Facilitate supply chain setup (if required)
- Ensure smooth transition from sourcing commercialization
Key KPIs
- Number of new suppliers/brands onboarded
- Success rate of sourced products moving to launch
- Pipeline strength (quality and quantity of opportunities)
- Time-to-onboard new suppliers/products
- Supplier satisfaction and retention
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5 years in FMCG / beauty / personal care industry
- Business development, Product sourcing, brand acquisition, Sales or supplier management
- Experience working with international suppliers preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong relationship management and communication skills
- Sharp commercial awareness (pricing, margins, positioning)
- Strong research and trend-spotting capability
- Highly organized with strong execution discipline
- Ability to evaluate products from both consumer and business perspective
- English fluency is must. Chinese speaking will be advantageous
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field
- Experience in beauty or consumer goods industry strongly preferred
