Interpreter (100% Work from Home) is a position that allows individuals to work remotely while providing essential language interpretation services.

About the Role

This role involves consecutive interpretation during live conversations between doctors and patients, bankers and clients, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with language barriers to understand and communicate with each other.
• Handle telephone or video calls on demand and render meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English.
• Process information quickly and concisely, recognize sensitive cultural differences, and always remain professional and courteous.
• Use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices.
• Interpret calls that may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective.
• Ability to quickly establish personal credibility.
• Ability to follow client's instructions closely.
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at the request of the client.
• B2 CEFR English Level bilingual with other required languages.
• Able to work from home on a permanent basis.

Required Skills

• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in interpretation or translation.
• Familiarity with industry-specific terminology.

Pay range and compensation package

Salary: Basic package up to RM5500 - RM7000
