Role Description The Chemistry Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based at Stonyhurst International School, Penang in Malaysia. The role involves planning and delivering engaging and challenging chemistry lessons that align with the school's curriculum and values. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and resources, teaching chemistry across appropriate grade levels, assessing and recording pupil progress, and providing constructive feedback to support academic growth. The Chemistry Teacher will contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in departmental meetings, co-curricular activities, and school events, while maintaining high standards of classroom management and safeguarding. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues and families to support pupils holistic development and wellbeing.

Qualifications
  • A degree in Chemistry, or a related field.
  • PGCE / iPGCE or with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), if applicable.PGCE / iPGCE or with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), if applicable.
  • Strong teaching skills, with demonstrated ability in classroom instruction, pupil engagement, and inclusive pedagogical practices.
  • Expertise in Chemistry Education, with solid subject knowledge and the ability to make complex concepts accessible and relevant.
  • Experience with Lesson Planning, including designing differentiated lessons, assessments, and laboratory activities.
  • Effective Communication skills, including clear explanation of concepts, constructive feedback, and collaborative work with colleagues.
  • Experience teaching secondary school chemistry, ideally in an international or values-based school setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and the school's ethos of care, compassion, and respect.
