Role Overview
The Compliance & AML Specialist supports the global compliance operations of our licensed financial institution clients, with a particular focus on financial licensing, AML/CTF, transaction monitoring, ongoing customer due diligence, and broader financial crime compliance.
Working closely with the Operations, Trading, Product, and IT teams, the Compliance & AML Specialist is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and strengthening the firm's financial crime risk management framework. The role also contributes to the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of compliance policies, controls, monitoring processes, and governance practices to promote a robust and effective compliance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support KYC/AML enhancement and optimisation projects, including framework, process, and system improvements
- Perform daily compliance reviews, investigate system-generated alerts, and escalate unusual or suspicious activities in accordance with internal procedures
- Clearly and accurately document review outcomes and investigation findings to meet audit, regulatory, and third-party review standards
- Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of KYC and transaction monitoring policies, procedures, operating manuals, and checklists
- Perform or support quality assurance (QA) reviews of KYC files and transaction monitoring investigations to ensure consistency and quality
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, follow up on, and resolve data or documentation gaps, ensuring timely completion of reviews
- Support regulatory affairs activities, including preparation of regulatory filings, responses to regulatory enquiries, and coordination of information requests
- Assist in regulatory examinations, audits, and inspections by compiling materials, preparing supporting documentation, and addressing follow-up actions
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and support the assessment of regulatory impact on compliance operations
Requirements
- 3–8 years of experience in risk, compliance operations, AML, KYC, or related support functions
- Hands-on experience in transaction monitoring support and/or KYC reviews (e.g. onboarding, periodic reviews)
- Strong understanding of AML / KYC best practices, risk indicators, and customer risk assessment methodologies
- Strong analytical skills, high risk awareness, and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently with case management systems, workflow tools, and internal data systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate findings
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese to support cross-regional collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, payments, brokerage, digital banking, or related industries
- Familiarity with leading transaction monitoring or KYC system platforms
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or equivalent
