Ansell is looking for Compounding Engineer (1 year contract) to join our team in Melaka!

In this position you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and controlling rubber/latex compounding processes to ensure product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and new product development.

What your role will be

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain compound formulations to meet product performance and quality requirements.
  • Monitor compounding processes and troubleshoot formulation or process-related issues.
  • Conduct trials, evaluations, and validation activities for new raw materials, formulations, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Production teams to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance process stability.
  • Analyze process data and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of compounding-related quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with Procurement and suppliers on raw material qualification and performance evaluation.
  • Support new product introductions and manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focusing on cost, quality, and efficiency.

What will you bring to Ansell

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Experience in compounding, rubber processing, polymer manufacturing, latex manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of rubber compounds, chemical additives, fillers, and mixing processes.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, statistical analysis, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis.
  • Experience in glove manufacturing, rubber products, latex processing, or polymer industries.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting new product development and process validation activities.
