Job Description

Content Creator (JB-based | Hybrid SG Travel | Public Sector & Institutional Content)

About Our Client

Our client is a Singapore-based communications and content agency specializing in institutional, education, and public sector communications.

Their work involves producing content for:

  • Universities and education institutions
  • Community and municipal initiatives
  • Government-linked stakeholders
  • Public engagement campaigns

Unlike lifestyle-focused agencies, the work is highly operational and event-driven. Many projects involve live coverage, on-ground interviewing, fast turnaround production, and structured stakeholder approval processes.

Because many community and public events take place outside regular office hours, the role requires genuine flexibility and comfort with evening/weekend work arrangements.

The team values:

  • Strong creative instincts
  • Reliability under pressure
  • Independent execution
  • Clear written English
  • Operational adaptability

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Content Creator who can independently manage the full production process:

Idea → Shoot → Edit → Publish

This role is ideal for candidates who:

  • Enjoy being on the ground
  • Prefer dynamic/event-based work
  • Can think creatively under fast timelines
  • Are comfortable speaking with strangers and stakeholders
  • Can work independently without excessive supervision

This is NOT a desk-only content role.

Important Working Reality

A significant portion of the work involves:

  • Weekend event coverage
  • Evening/night shoots
  • Singapore-based assignments
  • Fast turnaround publishing
  • On-ground content production
  • Real-time event documentation

Candidates should only apply if genuinely comfortable with flexible and event-driven working arrangements.

This role may not suit candidates who strongly prefer:

  • Strict office-hour schedules
  • Fully predictable workloads
  • Minimal weekend commitments
  • Fully remote work setups

Key Responsibilities

  • Create content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Shoot and edit short-form videos using mobile devices and/or cameras
  • Conduct interviews with residents, students, stakeholders, and event participants
  • Write clear English captions and social media copy
  • Produce real-time event coverage content
  • Adapt content quickly for multiple platforms
  • Handle fast turnaround revisions and publishing timelines
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders during approval processes
  • Travel to Singapore for client assignments and activations

Sector Experience

Required

  • None

Advantageous

Practical Requirements

  • Malaysian citizen residing in or near Johor Bahru
  • Eligible for Singapore Work Permit sponsorship
  • Able to travel to Singapore up to twice weekly, including weekends when required
  • Comfortable with event-based and flexible schedules
  • No minimum educational qualification required
  • Hiring decisions will be based primarily on:
  • Portfolio quality
  • Communication ability
  • Interview performance
  • Work attitude

Compensation

  • SGD 1,600/month (Singapore Work Permit arrangement)
  • Singapore travel costs reimbursed for work-related assignments
  • Entry-point production role with growth opportunities based on performance and capability

What We Prioritize During Screening

We prioritize:

  • Strong portfolios over impressive resumes
  • Creative judgment over formal credentials
  • Clear communication over buzzwords
  • Reliability and adaptability over polished interview answers

A strong personal TikTok/Instagram portfolio with thoughtful editing and storytelling may be valued more highly than weak commercial work.

Candidates should be able to clearly explain:

  • Why they framed shots a certain way
  • Why they edited scenes in specific sequences
  • Why captions were written differently for different audiences

Surface-level creative explanations may be considered a weak signal.
