Position: Deputy Accounting & Finance Manager
Working Time: Mon - Friday,9am-6pm

Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on Deputy Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and process improvement initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with outsourced accounting providers, auditors, tax agents, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and effective business decision support.
Job Descriptions:
- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting operations, including bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, GL closing, management reporting, treasury functions, and statutory reporting to ensure timely and accurate financial records.
- Manage all tax and regulatory compliance matters, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, SST/service tax, transfer pricing documentation, and coordination with tax agents, auditors, regulatory authorities, and company secretaries.
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including group consolidation, intercompany transactions, foreign currency translation, IFRS compliance, and audit readiness activities.
- Drive annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial planning, cost control initiatives, variance analysis, and performance monitoring to support business objectives and improve financial efficiency.
- Develop and enhance finance policies, SOPs, internal controls, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance, operational effectiveness, and risk mitigation across the organization.
- Identify and implement process improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives by collaborating with IT, operations, and external vendors to enhance productivity and reporting accuracy.
- Prepare management reporting packs, financial models, KPI dashboards, and business performance analysis to provide actionable insights for senior management and board-level decision-making.
- Partner closely with business units and key stakeholders to support strategic planning, investment evaluations, pricing decisions, cost optimization initiatives, and other commercial or operational projects.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, liquidity planning, and treasury activities to ensure effective working capital management and financial stability.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to the finance team, stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and support the implementation of new IFRS standards and finance best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, ICAEW or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience across accounting, FP&A, consolidation or audit.
- Preferred from Banking / financial services, Big 4 audit, commercial finance backgrounds
- Solid working knowledge of IFRS exposure to consolidation of multi-entity groups is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Malaysian tax and statutory requirements is preferred willingness to learn essential if not directly experienced.
- Strong technical accounting fundamentals and analytical mindset.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (modelling, pivot tables, lookups) proficiency in PowerPoint familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus.
- Experience with ERP / accounting systems systems implementation experience is a plus.
- Process-oriented thinker with a track record of identifying and delivering improvements.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English able to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Self-starter who thrives in a lean team environment and is comfortable being both hands on and strategic.
- High integrity, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines across geographies.
