Job Description

Job Purpose:

Lead a team in managing a portfolio of impaired accounts covering recovery, rehabilitation and litigation processes in compliance with the relevant rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversight on legal processes as well as strategies to recover.

2. To manage & supervise a team responsible for the following:

  • Ensure prompt legal action by solicitors.
  • Attend to all actionable items in relation to recovery and litigation action including vetting of court cause papers.
  • Engage with appropriate stakeholders e.g. customers, R&Ms, Liquidators, solicitors, internal stakeholders to ensure recovery efforts are aligned.
  • Prepare and see through any Restructuring & Rescheduling proposals
  • Monitor collection, compliance with approved conditions and agreements where necessary to ensure expeditious recovery outcome.

3. Supporting HOD in providing opportunity for staff's career advancement through on-the-job

exposure and via training/seminar attendance.

4. Manage and execute claims documentation (where required) from claims submission to processing

inclusive of close liaison with the relevant agencies like SJPP and CGC.

5. Understanding of new accounts acquired and conduct post-mortem to identify causes of

delinquency and the lessons learnt.

6. To table and present to the relevant management and Board committees on monthly recovery

reports as well as R&R/payment proposals by customers.

7. Any ad hoc task as assigned by the HOD.

Requirements:

1. Qualification: Degree in Law/Accounting/Economics/Banking & Finance

2. Experience: At least 10 years working experience in Banking sector primarily in corporate and/or commercial banking. Credit experience is recommended. Legal and/or recovery experience is preferable but not mandatory.
