Job Description

Our trusted client, a reputable G7 main contractor is on the look-out for their next deputy finance manager.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily finance operations including AR, AP, GL postings, and bank reconciliations to ensure timely, accurate processing and strong documentation control.
  • Review and approve payments, ensuring compliance with approval matrix, contract terms, and internal controls.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of supporting documents for transactions, audits, and project claims.
  • Monitor ageing (AR/AP) and take proactive action to reduce overdue receivables and prevent payment issues.
  • Support month-end closing, ensuring accurate accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review management reports including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPI dashboards.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis (project and overhead).
  • Support daily/weekly cash position monitoring and short-term cash flow planning.
  • Coordinate with project teams on cash requirements, payment scheduling, and collection priorities.
  • Assist with banking matters (e.g., bank facilities, guarantees, project-related accounts) and ensure timely bank documentation.
  • Ensure timely preparation, review, and submission of statutory tax filings (e.g., corporate tax, SST, withholding tax, indirect taxes where applicable).
  • Coordinate with tax agents/auditors and respond to queries, audits, and assessments professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain strong governance and internal controls, ensuring adherence to company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting Financial Audit by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents on time.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing discipline to ensure readiness for audits at any time.
  • Guide and review work of finance team members and support daily operational issues.
  • Work closely with project teams, HR, Procurement and QS to improve accuracy of forecasting, billing status, and cost control.
  • Assist the Finance Manager and step in as required to ensure continuity of finance operations.
  • Improve finance SOPs and strengthen controls across payment processing, reporting, and project finance processes.
  • Support ERP/accounting system enhancements, automation initiatives, and data accuracy improvements.
  • Ensure finance processes can scale effectively to support growing project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of accounting or any related field.
  • Experience in the construction or property industry is highly preferred. Alternatively, candidates from fast-paced or large-scale industries may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance role.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • High proficiency in finance operations, reporting and tax compliance.
  • Able to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic and evolving setup, and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Hands-on, dependable, and proactive in supporting the team.
