CSA Design Manager / MEP Design Manager – Greenfield Data Center Project

Client: Leading American Project Management Consultancy (PMC) supporting a global hyperscale data center project

About the Role

NES Fircroft is seeking experienced CSA Design Managers and MEP Design Managers to join a major greenfield data center development in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan. Embedded within a leading American Project Management Consultancy (PMC), you will act as the client's representative, overseeing the design management process within your respective discipline to ensure successful project delivery.

Working alongside Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders, you will drive design coordination from concept through construction, commissioning, and project handover. While previous data center experience is highly advantageous, candidates with experience on large-scale industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, infrastructure, or commercial projects are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all design activities within your assigned discipline (CSA or MEP) throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review design deliverables, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure effective integration between CSA and MEP systems.
• Lead technical design review meetings and facilitate the resolution of design issues and interface conflicts.
• Monitor design progress against project schedules and proactively manage risks, design changes, and technical queries.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and contractors to ensure design intent is maintained during construction.
• Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining functionality, quality, safety, and operational requirements.
• Review contractor shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs, and proposed design changes.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, and project handover.
• Ensure all design documentation is accurately maintained and complies with client and project governance requirements.

Requirements

For CSA Design Manager

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing the design of Civil, Structural & Architectural works on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of structural systems, architectural coordination, building envelope, finishes, and constructability.

For MEP Design Manager

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing the design of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing systems on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, ELV, and building services coordination.

General Requirements

• 8–15+ years of relevant design and design management experience.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary consultants and coordinating with contractors and client stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from concept design through commissioning and handover.
• Experience working within a consultancy, PMC, developer, or EPC environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous data center or other mission-critical infrastructure project experience is highly advantageous.
• Experience delivering industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or large commercial developments.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, Navisworks, or Revit.
• Professional registration (Professional Engineer, Architect, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of international design standards and multidisciplinary design coordination.
