Job Description

Position: Finance & Commercial Manager (Hospitality, Tourism & Attractions)

Industry: Tourism, Hospitality & Visitor Attractions

Working Duration: 12 months contract (Renewable based on performance)

Working Location: Merdeka 118, Jalan Hang Jebat, 50118 Kuala Lumpur

Working Day/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30AM - 5:30PM

Salary: Basic up to RM11,000 (Based on experience + skills) with statutory contribution + medical insurance + leave entitlement

Role Overview

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading and managing all finance functions for company. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls, effective revenue management, budget monitoring, regulatory compliance, and financial governance across the operations.

As a strategic business partner, the Finance Manager works closely with Operations, Sales & Marketing, Retail, Facilities, HR, and IT teams to provide financial insights that support business performance, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. The role is critical in safeguarding financial integrity while supporting a world-class Guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage day-to-day finance operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and performance analysis.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.

Revenue Management & Controls

  • Oversee daily revenue reconciliation across ticketing, online sales, OTAs, corporate bookings, events, retail, and other revenue streams.
  • Monitor and enforce cash, card, and e-wallet control procedures.
  • Review revenue variances and investigate discrepancies.
  • Oversee governance of refunds, discounts, promotions, void transactions, and complimentary ticket issuance.

Cost Control & Budget Monitoring

  • Monitor departmental budgets and operating expenses.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide cost optimization recommendations.
  • Partner with operational departments to improve efficiency and control expenditure.
  • Review procurement requests, contracts, and vendor pricing from a financial perspective.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, staff claims, and payment requests.
  • Monitor collections and outstanding receivables.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and business partners.

Compliance & Audit Management

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, statutory regulations, and internal controls.
  • Maintain audit-ready financial documentation and records.
  • Lead internal and external audit engagements.
  • Identify process gaps and implement control improvements.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Manage finance-related systems including POS, ticketing platforms, revenue management tools, and accounting software.
  • Drive automation and continuous process improvements.
  • Support system upgrades, integrations, and user training initiatives.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team.
  • Manage performance and workload distribution.
  • Build effective partnerships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insights to support business decisions, pricing strategies, promotions, and new initiatives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timely completion of monthly financial reporting.
  • Accuracy of financial statements and reconciliations.
  • Budget adherence and cost optimization achievements.
  • Revenue reconciliation accuracy.
  • Reduction of audit findings and compliance issues.
  • Collection efficiency and receivable management.
  • Successful implementation of process improvements.
  • Team performance and capability development.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Finance Professional.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience in attractions, hospitality, tourism, entertainment, or retail industries.

Working Environment

This position operates within a fast-paced, guest-centric attraction environment where high transaction volumes, operational agility, and financial accuracy are critical. The role may require flexibility in working hours during month-end, year-end closing, audits, major events, or business-critical activities.
