Job Description

Morgan Philips Group has been appointed on an exclusive basis by a global manufacturing organisations to support a newly created senior finance leadership role.

The business operates a large-scale manufacturing footprint in Malaysia, comprising multiple high-volume production sites supporting global customers. With Malaysia being a key manufacturing hub within the group, this hire plays a critical role in strengthening financial leadership, governance, and operational decision-making as the organisation continues to scale.

This search is part of the company's long-term growth and capacity expansion strategy, reflecting increased operational complexity, capital investment, and the need for strong finance partnership with manufacturing and engineering leadership.

Role overview: To lead financial strategy and operational performance across our expanding semiconductor manufacturing operations in Malaysia. This role oversees multi-site factory finance, drives cost excellence, strengthens governance, and partners closely with global Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.

This position plays a critical role in shaping financial decisions for high-volume, high-precision production, ensuring the manufacturing network remains competitive, efficient, and ready for continued growth. The role requires regular travel across manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

1) Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Lead AOP, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning for Malaysia manufacturing sites
  • Develop financial models to support capacity expansion, automation initiatives, and major capex investments
  • Provide clear, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior global leadership

2) Costing & Manufacturing Finance

  • Oversee standard costing, BOM accuracy, yield and scrap analysis, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption
  • Identify cost drivers, production variances, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Strengthen cost discipline across high-volume semiconductor manufacturing processes

3) Operations Partnership

  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Plant General Managers
  • Support decisions on production loading, bottlenecks, equipment deployment, and productivity initiatives
  • Collaborate on Lean, Six Sigma, and automation programs with robust financial impact analysis

4) Controls & Governance

  • Ensure strong internal controls across inventory, WIP, cycle counts, and high-value manufacturing assets
  • Align with corporate accounting, compliance, and audit requirements
  • Anticipate risks, develop scenarios, and recommend mitigation plans

5) Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a finance team across plant finance, cost accounting, and FP&A
  • Build a culture of accountability, speed, and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 12+ years of finance experience within semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing
  • Strong expertise in cost accounting, plant finance, and multi-site operations
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex, matrixed environments
  • Strong ERP and analytics capability (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion or equivalent)
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on, operational approach
  • Comfortable with frequent travel across manufacturing sites
