We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager / Finance Manager to oversee financial operations and ensure accurate reporting. This role involves managing accounting processes, supervising junior team members, and supporting compliance with statutory and tax requirements. You will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, and maintaining strong internal controls to support business growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Assist in generating timely reports for management and stakeholders.
- Support budget reporting and perform variance analysis on a quarterly basis.
- Review and reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledgers for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain general ledger records in compliance with MFRS standards, tax laws, and company policies.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
- Supervise and guide junior staff in daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOPs.
- Review daily transactions processed by team members.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment runs, and verification of supporting documents.
- Assist with project financing matters and progress payments.
- Prepare timely bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow, fund transfers, and banking documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, statutory requirements, and tax regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax agents to meet accounting and tax standards.
- Manage a small team to ensure timely and accurate monthly closing and compliance with SOPs.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong knowledge of MFRS accounting standards and Malaysian tax regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
