A leading multinational manufacturing group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead its Malaysia subsidiary's finance function.

About the Role

Our client, a multinational manufacturing enterprise with Chinese investment background, is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance and accounting function for its Malaysia operations. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to work closely with regional headquarters while managing local statutory, tax, and operational finance matters end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance operations of the Malaysia entity, including bookkeeping, accounting, and month-end/year-end closing
• Prepare local financial reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts in line with group policy and Malaysian regulatory requirements
• Liaise with external accountants and statutory auditors; prepare year-end closing materials and statutory tax filings
• Manage the full spectrum of tax and statutory obligations, including Personal Income Tax, Payroll Tax, FBT, GST/SST, Corporate Income Tax, and transfer pricing/local file documentation
• Oversee fixed asset management, provisions, employee expense claims, and internal control procedures
• Drive compliance and system improvement initiatives, such as e-invoicing rollout and ERP/process enhancements
• Coordinate annual audits and support internal and external audit activities
• Strengthen internal controls and optimize financial processes to improve compliance and efficiency
• Partner with the headquarters finance team on group consolidation and financial analysis
• Oversee banking operations, payment approvals, and accounts receivable management

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; local Malaysian accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA) preferred
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial/accounting roles, ideally within manufacturing, multinational corporations, or Chinese-invested enterprises
• Strong working knowledge of Malaysian tax compliance and audit requirements
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP)
• Excellent command of MS Office
• Strong analytical skills, high sense of ownership, and effective cross-cultural communication skills
