As a Global Account Manager, you will maintain executive level client relationships at key large multinational organizations and provide consultative selling to support strategic long-term objectives and profitability of the organization. You will align Wesco's vast resources to support our clients needs on a global scale to maximize our growth opportunity and expand product sets internationally. You will drive profitability through strategic account management and new business development and manage accounts, programs and/or projects of significant scope and complexity. You will develop, implement, and execute supply chain solutions across multiple sites, regions, and theatres. You will resolve complex issues and propose strategic solutions (i.e. sustainability model, supply chain – forward provisioning, supply chain interruptions).

Responsibilities

  • Own revenue growth and strategic account development for named global enterprise customers across Penang and northern Malaysia, with emphasis on semiconductor, electronics, OSAT, data infrastructure, precision manufacturing, and large industrial manufacturing accounts.
  • Build and execute multi-year account plans covering customer mapping, executive engagement, site expansion, share-of-wallet growth, contract renewals, and net-new opportunities across manufacturing, procurement, engineering, facilities, IT, and operations stakeholders.
  • Develop deep relationships with senior decision-makers and influencers within major technology manufacturers and large manufacturing organizations, including global, regional, and local leadership teams.
  • Position Wesco's service-led value proposition by identifying opportunities for supply-chain optimization, inventory management, forward provisioning, vendor-managed inventory, kitting, staging, logistics coordination, technical services, and total cost of ownership improvement.
  • Lead consultative selling engagements that translate customer production goals, capacity expansion, business-continuity needs, and supply-chain constraints into scalable commercial solutions.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new sales initiatives across customer sites, new production lines, regional expansion programs, and strategic projects in the Penang semiconductor and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Manage complex multi-stakeholder pursuits, including solution design, proposal development, pricing strategy, contract negotiation, risk review, and implementation planning.
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams, service teams, suppliers, operations, logistics, and technical specialists to deliver integrated solutions that support uptime, speed-to-market, cost reduction, and operational resilience.
  • Engage strategic suppliers and internal solution experts to create differentiated offerings aligned to customer technology roadmaps, manufacturing requirements, and global account objectives.
  • Maintain a disciplined opportunity pipeline in CRM, providing accurate forecasts, account updates, margin visibility, renewal status, and strategic project progress to senior leadership.
  • Lead account governance routines including quarterly business reviews, executive reviews, program performance tracking, issue resolution, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer investment plans, supply-chain dynamics, and regional semiconductor ecosystem developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Drive cross-sell and up-sell of value-add services, supply-chain programs, electrical and network infrastructure solutions, MRO support, and other adjacent offerings that increase customer wallet share.
  • Apply strong project-management discipline to ensure customer initiatives move from concept to implementation with clear owners, timelines, success measures, and commercial outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of proven enterprise sales, strategic account management, business development, or global account management experience, preferably serving semiconductor, electronics, advanced manufacturing, industrial technology, or large MNC manufacturing customers.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex accounts in Penang, northern Malaysia, or the wider Asia technology manufacturing ecosystem.
  • Proven track record growing revenue with large technology manufacturers, semiconductor companies, OSATs, electronics manufacturers, or global industrial customers.
  • Strong understanding of service-led selling and supply-chain solutioning, including inventory programs, TCO-based selling, logistics support, forward stocking, vendor consolidation, fulfillment models, and operational continuity programs.
  • Established industry connects and strong customer network within semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, engineering, procurement, operations, and facilities leadership communities in the region.
  • Ability to sell at executive level while also engaging technical, commercial, procurement, engineering, and operations stakeholders across multiple sites and functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating agreements, master supply contracts, service programs, pricing structures, renewals, and multi-region account commitments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional pursuit teams and coordinating matrixed resources across sales, suppliers, operations, logistics, finance, legal, and service delivery.
  • Ability to identify customer pain points, develop value propositions, quantify business impact, and convert insights into measurable pipeline and revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to navigate large, complex, and multicultural organizations.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools; ability to use data and account insights to drive forecasting, pipeline health, and executive reporting.
  • Self-starter with high ownership, resilience, and the ability to perform in fast-moving, high-pressure customer environments.
  • Ability to travel regularly within Penang, northern Malaysia, and across the region as required to support customer relationships and strategic account execution.
