Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy an Industrial Engineering strategy to deliver Customer Service Excellence and Operational Excellence. Communicate the strategy to ensure alignment and unity of purpose across all of Manufacturing Solutions. Drive strategy execution establish and monitor metrics to assess effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain a Community of Practice (CoP) at the global, regional and site levels. Leverage the CoP to develop and effectively execute the strategy. Use the CoP to obtain stakeholder input on various issues and as a conduit to implement initiatives, standard work and functional management responsibilities at the regional and local levels.
  • Build flexible time-standard, costing, and operational models that enable clear measures of productivity, optimized ergonomics and minimization of non-value added activities.
  • Deliver a standardized approach for Industrial Engineering. Provide policy and guidance to ensure Industrial Engineering delivers operational excellence as a foundation to delivering customer service excellence while growing Plexus profitable revenue. Develop and deploy standard practices and tools for the conduct of Industrial Engineering. Drive alignment of Industrial Engineering practices across regions. Ensure best practices are shared and adopted across regions.
  • Articulate a guiding vision to create a strong global Industrial Engineering team. Provide overarching policy and guidance for professional and technical development of Industrial Engineers. Collaborate with Training and Development experts to define training and education needs ensure training is created and delivered.
  • Interface with site, regional and corporate engineering leadership to ensure appropriate alignment of global objectives and development of talent.
  • Establish software integration strategies and implementation plans to increase productivity and reduce the manufacturing escapes.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience of 7 years (s) is required for this position, assuming education requirements are met. Equivalent industry experience of 10 or more years is highly desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge of ergonomics principals through training and/or hands on experience is necessary for success in this role.
  • Extensive understanding of manufacturing flow and lean manufacturing principles is required.
  • Ability to lead multi-site teams and interact with executive management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
  • Proven ability to influence others, including relationship-building, conflict resolution and leadership competencies as defined by the company. Ability to lead without formal authority.
