Job Summary
The Head of Human Resources leads and manages the full HR function by
aligning people strategies with organizational objectives. This role oversees
talent management, employee relations, payroll, compensation, and benefits
administration to ensure the organization attracts, retains, and develops a
skilled and motivated workforce while maintaining compliance and operational
excellence.
1. Strategic HR Leadership
Partner with senior management to formulate and execute HR strategies
that support business goals.
Oversee workforce planning, succession management, and
organizational development.
Develop and manage the HR department budget and ensure effective
resource utilization.
2. HR Policy, Compliance & Governance
Establish, review, and implement HR policies and procedures consistent
with Malaysian labour laws and company direction.
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS,
HRD Corp, LHDN, etc.).
Advise management on legal compliance, audits, and disciplinary
matters.
3. Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Management
Oversee and ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and timely processing
of payroll across all business units.
Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits structures
that attract and retain talent.
Conduct periodic salary benchmarking and internal equity reviews.
Recommend reward and recognition programs to enhance employee
engagement and motivation.
4. Talent Acquisition & Employee Lifecycle Management.
Drive recruitment strategies to meet manpower needs across retail and
corporate divisions.
Oversee onboarding, orientation, and probation evaluations to ensure
smooth integration.
Manage employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary
processes.
5. Employee Engagement & Culture
Champion a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven workplace
culture.
Lead employee engagement, communication, and recognition initiatives
to improve morale and retention.
Serve as an advisor to management and employees on HR-related
matters.
6. Learning, Development & Performance
Design and implement training and development programs aligned with
company goals.
Lead performance appraisal and talent review exercises.
Identify leadership development needs and drive upskilling initiatives.
7. HR Systems & Analytics
Manage HRIS systems to ensure data accuracy and effective reporting.
Utilize analytics to monitor key HR metrics, turnover, and workforce
trends for strategic decision-making.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of payroll administration, compensation and
benefits, talent management, and employment laws.
Proven ability to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with
business objectives.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling sensitive
matters.
Proficient in HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office
applications.
