The HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Malaysia will act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing HR guidance and support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong stakeholder management, hands-on execution, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with regional HR teams. The role involves working closely with ground-level stakeholders to support operational needs and drive engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on HR-related matters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Manage employee relations, including handling unions and supporting union-related negotiations and agreements.
Drive employee engagement initiatives, including organizing focus groups and engagement activities for blue-collar employees.
Provide guidance on performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
Work closely with different stakeholders on the ground to address operational HR needs and foster strong engagement.
Be flexible to travel across Malaysia (e.g., Penang and other locations) to meet mechanics and employees, building trust and understanding challenges firsthand.
Qualifications
8–10+ years of HR experience, with strong exposure to employee relations and union handling.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in driving employee engagement and conducting focus groups.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws and industrial relations practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to travel across Malaysia as required.
