About the Role
- We are looking for a skilled and commercially minded Indirect Category Lead Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will manage the sourcing and procurement of indirect goods and services across the business and ensuring that we get best-in-class value while maintaining strong supplier relationships and full compliance with procurement policies. This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys working cross-functionally, driving cost efficiencies, and making a tangible impact on the business. This role oversees indirect procurement activities across 3 plants, reporting directly to the Head of Procurement while leading a team of 2 Procurement Specialists.
- The position is based at Susumas Plant, Batu 3, Subang Hi-Tech.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend (e.g IT, facilities, HR, marketing, logistics).
- Lead sourcing activities, tenders, RFQs, and contract negotiations.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance.
- Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and value improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Ensure procurement policy compliance and mitigate supplier risks.
- Monitor market trends and recommend sourcing improvements.
- Lead or mentor buyers and support procurement best practices.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field; a professional procurement certification is an advantage
- Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience with a focus on indirect categories, ideally within an FMCG, dairy, or multinational environment
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills with a proven track record of delivering savings and value
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused — you take ownership and drive outcomes
- Sound understanding of procurement ethics, governance, and risk management principles
