Job Description

Company Overview

OneCredit is Malaysia's newest Credit Bureau registered under the Ministry of Finance. We compile and maintain individual and business credit information to generate reports and scores that help businesses and consumers manage risk, make informed decisions, and achieve financial goals. Beyond that, we are an information services and technology company specialising in big data analytics to support decision making in government, business, and finance.

Job Description

We are looking for a Product Designer who is curious, cares deeply about craft, and wants to do work that genuinely matters. This role is open to designers who are early in their career but moving with purpose, as well as those who are mid-level and ready to take on more ownership. What we care about most is how you think, how you collaborate, and whether you are the kind of person who sees design as a tool for solving real problems rather than just making things look good.

You will work closely with our design, product, and engineering teams, contributing to live products from day one. You will be given real responsibilities, honest feedback, and the space to grow in an environment where design has a genuine seat at the table.

What You'll Do

You will be involved early in the product development process, working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to shape ideas from concept to execution. Design here is not an afterthought. It is the link between user needs, business goals, and technical implementation.

Your impact will go beyond UI and UX. You will help shape a cohesive design language that spans product interfaces, customer communications, and every touchpoint users encounter across channels. We are looking for someone who thinks in systems, not screens. Someone who connects user experience, visual storytelling, and business intent into a single coherent direction. Someone who questions assumptions before picking up a tool, pushes for clarity when direction is vague, and treats design not as decoration but as a lever for solving problems that actually matter.

You will not just follow a roadmap, you will help define it. We value designers who can spot gaps, reframe problems, and advocate for a better path forward, even if it means challenging the status quo.

Key Roles

  • Own or support end-to-end UI and UX design work depending on your experience level, from early wireframes and user flows through to polished, high-fidelity deliverables
  • Build and iterate on prototypes to explore ideas and gather early feedback
  • Conduct or assist in user research, usability tests, and customer interviews, and convert findings into actionable design decisions
  • Contribute to and help maintain the design system, ensuring consistency across products
  • Document design decisions clearly so engineers and stakeholders can follow your thinking and build with confidence
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and the senior designer to ship well-considered solutions
  • Liaise with the business and commercial teams to understand market needs, customer pain points, and revenue opportunities, and translate those inputs into design directions that support growth
  • Explore and propose alternative product experiences, flows, and features that open new ways for users to engage with our products and unlock growth beyond the obvious path
  • Design with compliance in mind. As a company that handles sensitive credit data, you will work closely with legal, compliance, and product teams to ensure every user-facing experience meets regulatory standards, communicates data usage transparently, and builds trust with end users
  • Help evolve our design process away from traditional methodology toward a faster, more agile way of shipping products

Qualifications

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in product design, with a portfolio that clearly demonstrates your process and thinking
  • Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools
  • Experience with user research, usability testing, and iterative, data-informed design
  • Strong documentation habits using tools like Notion or Confluence
  • Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in presenting and defending design decisions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment alongside engineers and product managers
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices

Bonus Points

  • Exposure to frontend development and a working understanding of web standards including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design principles, WCAG accessibility guidelines, and utility-first frameworks such as Tailwind, with knowledge of how design decisions translate directly into code
  • Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex, with the ability to design in parallel with code
  • Experience using image generation tools like Midjourney to explore visual directions and support early-stage ideation
  • Familiarity with no-code or prototyping tools like Framer or Webflow
  • Working knowledge of UI animation tools such as Lottie or Rive
  • Any background in fintech, SaaS, or ecommerce, even from internships or side projects

What We Value

If you are naturally curious, ask thoughtful questions, and are eager to take on a design role that goes beyond the typical scope, we want to hear from you. Even if you do not meet every single requirement, your passion for the craft and genuine care for users matters more.

How to Apply

Please include your resume, portfolio, and 1 to 2 case studies that clearly showcase your process and impact. Each case study should highlight:

  • The problem you were solving
  • Your specific role and responsibilities
  • The approach you took, including research, design decisions, and iterations
  • The outcome or measurable impact

If selected for an interview, you will be given a whiteboard challenge. You will be presented with a real problem and asked to work through a solution within a set time constraint. This is not about perfection. It is about how you think, how you handle ambiguity, and how you communicate your reasoning under pressure.

We are especially interested in how you think, how you work across teams, and how you have challenged the status quo in past projects.
