SUPCON is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia, with a strong focus on strategic customers such as Petronas and major refining and petrochemical operators in Malaysia.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Key Account Manager (KAM) to develop and manage strategic Oil & Gas and petrochemical clients in Malaysia, particularly within Petronas refineries and related EPC ecosystem.
This role focuses on selling advanced process automation solutions, including DCS, control systems, and industrial digitalization platforms, supporting large-scale automation projects in refineries and process plants.
The KAM will work closely with regional teams and global key account leaders to drive long-term customer relationships and major project opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Key Account Development
Develop and manage strategic accounts within Petronas and other major Oil & Gas operators
Build strong relationships with automation managers, engineering managers, and plant management teams
Automation Solution Sales
Promote and sell DCS (Distributed Control Systems), control systems, and industrial automation solutions
Support customers in process control upgrades, digitalization, and automation modernization projects
Project Sales & Bidding
Identify large-scale automation projects within refineries, petrochemical complexes, and process plants
Lead technical and commercial discussions during tender and bidding processes
Ecosystem Collaboration
Work closely with EPC contractors, system integrators, and engineering consultants
Develop partnerships with key players involved in refinery automation projects
Market Intelligence
Track industry trends and competitor activities in process automation
Provide strategic insights on opportunities in Malaysia's Oil & Gas and refining sector
Required Experience
Industry Background
Candidates must have experience in one of the following industries:
Industrial Automation
Process Control Systems
Oil & Gas Automation
Petrochemical Engineering Solutions
Sales Experience
5–15 years of experience in technical sales or key account management
Experience selling automation systems, control systems, or instrumentation
Technology Knowledge
Strong familiarity with technologies such as:
DCS (Distributed Control System)
PLC / SCADA
Process automation systems
