Setel serves customers across Malaysia by powering one app as the constant companion to ease motorists journey across fueling, parking, EV charging, motor insurance, road tax, auto assistance, general purchases, and more across an ecosystem of PETRONAS petrol stations, retail partners, and online merchants.
Role Purpose:
The
Lead, Business Strategy & Development develops and implements Setel's strategic direction through market analysis, internal company analysis and portfolio management in order to facilitate value-based decision making such as investment and project decisions.
In this role you will:
- Build investment cases and financial models to inform capital allocation and growth decisions.
- Track fintech industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments relevant to strategy.
- Maintain portfolio and performance views to support strategic reviews.
- Conduct opportunity assessments and feasibility studies for potential growth projects.
- Coordinate incubation activities from concept framing through MVP planning.
- Prepare strategic materials and recommendations for executive discussions.
- Support the company sustainability agenda, tracking ESG initiatives and progress against targets.
You're a great fit if you have:
- A degree in accounting & finance, corporate finance, economics, maths and stats.
- Minimum 8 years working experience in strategy related roles.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, business analysis, and execution of growth initiatives.
- Experience in developing business cases, conducting financial modelling, and portfolio management.
- Prior exposure to cross-functional projects, partnerships, or joint ventures in technology, fintech, or digital businesses would be an added advantage.
Technical/Functional Skills
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and market intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of portfolio management frameworks and strategy development methodologies.
