Role Overview
The Faculty of Business invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Marketing. The successful candidate will contribute to high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, student supervision, and impactful research aligned with Faculty priorities. The role also involves academic service, collegial engagement, and external community collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Supervision
- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in face‑to‑face and online modes.
- Design, assess, and provide timely feedback on student learning.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Research & Scholarship
- Conduct high‑quality research and maintain an active publication record.
- Develop research proposals and seek competitive research funding.
- Supervise Master's and PhD research students.
- Contribute to scholarship of teaching and learning.
Service & Engagement
- Contribute to academic service at department and faculty levels.
- Demonstrate collegiality and effective teamwork.
- Engage with industry, professional bodies, and the wider community.
- Provide academic leadership appropriate to appointment level.
Qualifications & Experience
- A PhD in Marketing or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience teaching marketing or closely related subjects at tertiary level.
- Demonstrated sufficient academic maintenance activities for a scholarly academic according to AACSB criteria (e.g. journal, book, conference publications, grants, editorial, conference and reviewer activities, master and PhD supervision).
- An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
- Experience in supervising higher degree research students.
- Research output in quality refereed academic journals (aligned with AACSB standards).
- Proven ability to develop research funding proposals.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge and expertise in marketing and related disciplines, preferably with second expertise in tourism and hospitality.
- Proficiency in online teaching tools and a strong understanding of pedagogical and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills with cross‑cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work effectively in a collegial, supportive academic environment.
- Professional membership or certification in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
