Job Title: Legal & Compliance Counsel

Role Purpose
Drive operational integrity, mitigate commercial risk, and protect regional business growth. Based on-site at our Gelang Patah hub, this role serves as the embedded legal authority for local supply chain operation -blending sharp commercial drafting with rigorous regulatory control, data privacy leadership, and cross-functional governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Compliance & Risk Management: Protect physical and financial workflows by embedding local and international customs, trade, and regulatory requirements directly into daily logistics operations. Localize global headquarters governance policies and institute robust, preventive internal controls.
- Commercial Transactions: Draft, negotiate, and execute high-value supply chain, procurement, and commercial contracts, balancing legal risk with operational speed.
- Data Privacy & Corporate Governance: Lead local data privacy compliance under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) alongside Data Protection leadership, and oversee statutory corporate secretarial duties for local entities.
- Legal Operations & Enablement: Modernize legal workflows using tech-driven contract management tools, while designing and delivering high-impact legal training programs for operational leaders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Legal Credentials: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and admitted to practice law in Malaysia.
- Track Record: 3+ years of post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house roles, with direct exposure to retail, supply chain, or logistics operations.
- Communication: Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Location: Fully based on-site at our Gelang Patah Logistics Hub in Johor.
