KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and execute Management Information, Planning & Analysis strategy and policies for FWD Malaysia. Identify any potential issues and make recommendations to the respective business partners
  • Responsible to deliver monthly Management Information Pack and present to management team
  • Lead and manage Group Reporting to meet Group's insistent and peremptory requirements with tight timelines with large numbers of information to be completed (ie reconciliation templates with financial reporting) including providing accurate quarterly forecast, attentive to Group finance/Actuary's queries to support Group for its next step of strategy plan
  • Coordinate with business for quarterly dialogue with Group management team on the Business Pack to ensure the deliverables are accurate and on timely manner.
  • Make decisions with oversight from the CSO or CFO with long-term impact on the finance function
  • Lead and plan with business and Group to ensure Annual Budget is organized in an effective and efficient manner, group required templates are submitted as per the timelines and budget pack is accurate and timely for the budget dialogue with Group
  • Setting out MI Governance & Policies and reports to ensure there is no conflict with Financial Accounting Governance & Policies.
  • Lead and oversee Board Papers on financial results for Board Members for strategy decision making
  • Lead and manage annual review of the management expense allocation methodology for adoption in Actuarial assumptions and as required by Regulatory Body to correctly reflect the financial results by line of business and in line with new IFRS 17 accounting standards
  • Monitor and manage costs to ensure optimally spent within budget throughout the year and highlight to CSO/CFO if potentially exceed plan. Assist business to monitor and tracking its costs in accordance to budget.
  • Monitor factors of the STI target and highlight to CSO/CFO the potential shortfall on a timely manner. Includes Group Recharges to assure the charges are valid and charging methodologies are intact and in compliance to the stringent guidelines/laws of Regulatory Bodies.
  • Monitor and ensure EU related costs/CAPEX are captured appropriately and report to Group on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee monthly accrual posting on shareholders fund's expenses to ensure those costs are captured timely and accurately and advise payment team on the correct GL posting as and when required.
  • As bank administrator (authoriser) to ensure that the right user has the appropriate access to the accounts in accordance to its role and function and payment authorization is in order
  • Advise and provide ad-hoc reports to business for their decision making or reporting purposes
  • Lead and coach an effective team that collaborates effectively with other teams in Finance and other functions to generate desired deliverables. Includes motivate and guide the team by improving their skill set and knowledge to a capability level required for the specific role

REQUREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Fellow Member of Accounting Professional Body, CPA Australia
  • Extensive and more than 10 years of experience in management reporting in Financial Institutions and Insurance Industry
  • Possessed the experience of creating, developing and leading a team as more than 10 years in managerial position. Strong leadership and management ability, developing and motivating employees.
