Managing Director, Malaysia

The Opportunity

Our client is an Asia Consumer Products Leader, building up their Malaysia business with a multi-brand portfolio including beverage, personal care and home care category. Their business spans across modern trade, general trade, e-commerce, B2B, HORECA, and export. As they scale, they are seeking a commercially-driven Managing Director to own the full P&L and lead the business through its next growth phase.

This is a senior leadership role for someone with proven entrepreneurial ownership and strong FMCG fundamentals. You will set strategy, shape the organisation, and be accountable for results - across supply, commercials, team-building, and financials.

The Role

You hold full P&L accountability for the business. You will set the multi-year strategy and lead its execution. On the supply side, you identify and manage OEM partners, drive product development, own demand planning, and ensure regulatory compliance. Commercially, you grow the brands across all channels, recalibrate the route-to-market, and identify new revenue streams. You will reset and grow teams across commercial, marketing, supply chain, and finance. Reporting into the board, you will own the cash flow, working capital, cost of goods, and profitability.

The Ideal Candidate

You have 10+ years of senior commercial leadership, with at least 3 to 5 years as a GM, MD, Country Head, or founder running full P&L. Your FMCG background is strong, ideally in the beverage and food business wiith hands-on experience in OEM manufacturing, product development, and multi-channel sales. You know Malaysia - the retail landscape, distributor networks, and compliance requirements. You would have demonstrated experience in building, restructuring businesses and teams.
