What You'll Be Doing:
- Be our eyes and ears and attend exciting events, press conferences, and community townhalls to get the first scoop on the latest happenings.
- Craft factually accurate, grammatically clean, and engaging stories for both our print and online platforms.
- Switch gears easily between reporting on local government issues and lifestyle features like fashion shows, theatre, or art exhibitions. No two days in Metro are the same!
- Propose exclusive story ideas and hunt for the perfect visuals or videos to bring your reports to life.
- Monitor assigned beats and keep a keen eye on community happenings, disasters, or breaking news to keep our readers informed.
What We're Looking For:
- A Degree or Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communications, or a related field.
- We love fresh graduates! If you have 1 - 2 years of experience, even better.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English is non-negotiable. You must also be able to understand Bahasa Malaysia for sourcing, and knowing Mandarin is an added bonus.
- Basic photography or video skills are highly welcomed to help your stories pop.
