About the Role
We are seeking a Network & Infrastructure Manager to lead the design, deployment, and management of network and IT infrastructure at our Contract Manufacturer (CM) sites in Malaysia. This role is central to enabling our manufacturing digital transformation and ensures secure, high-availability connectivity across our global IT environment and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end deployment of network and infrastructure solutions at CM sites in support of manufacturing digital transformation.
- Design and implement secure, scalable network architecture using FortiGate firewalls, Layer 3 switches, and cloud-connected systems.
- Manage firewall policies, VLAN segmentation, IDS/IPS, and secure remote access in compliance with SOX/ISO 27001 requirements.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and incident resolution across LAN/WAN, WiFi, and industrial network environments.
- Act as the key liaison between POET Global IT, CM IT teams, and local infrastructure vendors.
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation, topology diagrams, and change records per POET's IT governance standards.
- Identify and implement improvements to network performance, security, and operational efficiency at all CM sites.
- Ability to implement zero-trust principles, secure remote access, and network-level DLP controls
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field minimum 5 years of network and infrastructure experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
- Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls including VPN configuration, High Availability, IDS/IPS, VLAN segmentation, and FortiAnalyzer.
- Proficient in Layer 3 switching (VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, STP, QoS) on Cisco, HPE, or Aruba platforms.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), and network monitoring tools (PRTG, SolarWinds, Wireshark).
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOX IT General Controls, and IT change management processes. Fluent in English Bahasa Malaysia proficiency preferred and Mandarin is an advantage.
