Job Description

Responsibilities Operations :

  • Lead and manage the entire land transportation which comprises of Car Carriers.
  • Plan, organize and manage job scopes of subordinates to ensure that the tasks are accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • Sets performance metrics/KPIs for staff within the Transport Division. Performance metrics should be monitored on a weekly basis and reviewed/discussed with the MD monthly.
  • Support management by providing inputs/suggestions for all strategic processes.
  • Plan implement and enforce operational savings to transportation services such as reducing routes, optimizing capacities, employing alternate modes of transportation, and minimizing idling. 6. Track deviations to return of Delivery Notes and act accordingly to ensure that SOPs are followed by Operations Department and Driver Management Department.
  • Ensure Delivery Notes which are returned by Car Carrier Captains (CCCs) are keyed into the Transport Management Systems (TMS) within the deadline until Auto E-DN functions are 100% live.
  • Plan, implement, and lead continuous quality improvements process in operations.
  • Ensure that all trucks achieve a minimum of 1.5 loads (AT) and 2 loads (Rigid) per day.
  • Ensure that all loads assigned are 100% efficiently picked up from bookings and executed in a timely manner for delivery based on customer's and company's set of KPIs as approved from time to time.
  • To study the current SOPs of Customer bookings/orders and Driver load assignment in TMS/Delivery tablet and follow through with planning, implementation, and enforcement of the new SOPs.
  • Prepare Monthly Performance Report (MPR) for the Transport Operations Department, identify challenges and implement processes to overcome it.
  • Ensure that TMS software is 100% utilized.

Driver Management :

  • Establish excellent rapport with CCCs and DMD staff to obtain their buy in during administration of new policies and procedures.
  • Coach and guide DMD to plan, develop, implement, and enforce a scorecard for CCCs.
  • Ensure appropriate actions are taken on CCCs involving GPS non-compliances such as idling, speeding, harsh braking, harsh acceleration, accidently/incidents negligence, and work on counter measures to achieve zero case.
  • Monitor and ensure that CCCs are using the RFID devices and new driver app fully (100%).
  • Review investigations to determine root causes of transportation accidents/incidents, coordinate quality improvement activities and/or improve transport safety procedures.
  • Be a part of the Review Committee to review accidents/incidents involving CCCs and ensure quality report and actions for improvements done by DMD within a given timeframe.
  • Coach and assist DMD team to handle disciplinary issues and actions in accordance with Employment Act regulations against CCCs and/or employees when necessary.

Others:

  • Monitor cost (forecast, budgeted and actuals) from Operations Department (salaries, OT, claims and etc) and Driver Management Department (diesel, toll and etc).
  • Monitor Transport Operations expenditure to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets.
  • Any other goal, tasks and/or projects assigned by the Management from time to time.
