Your Role

The Optometrist is responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to customers within the retail store setting. They perform eye examinations, diagnose visual problems, prescribe corrective lenses, and offer expert advice on eye health and maintenance. The Optometrist collaborates with other team members to ensure exceptional customer service and adherence to regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include closing sales, conducting eye examinations, prescribing visual aids, maintaining patient records, and staying updated on optometry practices and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and visual aids based on individual patient needs.
  • Provide thorough explanations of eye conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with optical staff to fulfill prescriptions and orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed about advancements in optometry practices, technologies, and treatments. (attend course to fulfill required CDP points)
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices, hygiene, safety, and preventive measures.
  • Address patient concerns and inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards governing the practice of optometry.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Optometry with Honors from an accredited institution.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in conducting eye examinations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to upholding high ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
