This role will be based in Petaling Jaya.
What you'll be doing
Responsible to develop and implement new packaging and process, to carry out continuous improvement, growth enabler, CAPEX and sustainability project. To execute renovation / innovation projects, provide technical support to enable the company to meet its business objectives. To ensure all product innovation and renovation comply with intended country requirements. To coordinate on projects that has multifunction involvement and to support in consumer research activities. To create, maintain and secure all relevant R&D documentation and systems in accordance with stated policies.
- Continuous Improvement Projects – participate in idea development, project management, review packaging materials and processes, packaging improvement / cost optimization, conducting shelf-life studies whenever necessary.
- Project Engagement, lead and Support in Feasibility study, Ideation within Packaging Team, Communication with Supplier for feasibility
- Creating and maintaining documents related to packaging specification, trial protocols, trial reports, PTPR, Change Management Control, Artworks and keyline.
- Evaluating new and existing packaging solution through factory in-house and co-manufacturing testing to assess feasibility and performance. Lead and perform packaging trial as needed especially manufacturing trial and other packaging test related.
- Providing, guiding and expertise relevant technical support in packaging material selection, specification development and design optimization. Offering technical support to resolve packaging related challenges and ensure compliance with quality standard and requirement.
Job Requirement:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Packaging, or related field
- 3-5 years working experience in packaging development within the FMCG food industry/R&D.
- Good understanding of food processing and packaging processes, particularly thermal processing.
- Experience in packaging development, packaging materials, printing, specifications, and manufacturing support.
- Knowledge of sustainable packaging initiatives, material reduction, and food-packaging interactions.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, including metal cans, glass, flexible films, and plastic packaging.
- Experience in packaging trials, process validation, and project management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in MS Office and BOM systems.
