Paralegal – Litigation & General Legal Support

Messrs FUZET is a boutique law firm specialising in Maritime, Aviation, Rail, Oil & Gas and related commercial and litigation matters.
We are expanding our team and are looking to recruit two Paralegals to provide hands-on legal support to our lawyers across the firm's practice areas.
We are looking for individuals who are experienced, organised, meticulous and proactive, with solid experience working in a law firm and, preferably, a strong background in litigation and dispute-related matters.
THE ROLE
The successful candidates will provide hands-on legal and matter support to our lawyers, with a particular focus on litigation while also supporting the firm's wider legal practice.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Litigation & Legal Support
- Assisting lawyers with the preparation of pleadings, affidavits, submissions, cause papers, correspondence and other legal documents;
- Preparing and maintaining court bundles, hearing bundles, chronologies, indexes and lists of documents;
- Assisting with the preparation of documents and materials for court hearings, trials and case managements;
- Conducting legal and case-related research and preparing research materials and summaries;
- Reviewing, organising and analysing documents received from clients, opposing parties and other stakeholders;
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of case files and matter records;
- Monitoring court dates, filing deadlines and other important matter milestones;
- Assisting with e-filing and other court-related requirements where applicable;
- Liaising with clients, counsel, courts, authorities and other parties when required; and
- Providing day-to-day support in the management of litigation matters.
General Legal Support
In addition to litigation work, the Paralegals will also assist with the firm's wider legal practice, including:
- Legal research relating to Maritime, Aviation, Oil & Gas and commercial matters;
- Reviewing, organising and managing contracts, agreements and other legal documents;
- Assisting lawyers with client matters, meetings and correspondence;
- Maintaining proper document management and filing systems;
- Assisting with matter management and document tracking;
- Preparing reports, summaries and other materials as required; and
- Providing other legal support as reasonably required by the firm.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working in a law firm;
- Solid exposure to litigation and dispute-related matters;
- Good understanding of litigation processes and legal documentation;
- Good legal research, drafting and document review skills;
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills;
- Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines;
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team;
- A proactive, responsible and professional approach to work; and
- A genuine willingness to learn and develop within a specialist legal practice.
Candidates with 4–6 years of relevant experience and demonstrated ability to work independently are particularly encouraged to apply.
