Process Engineer

About the role

Work Location: Shah Alam, Malaysia
Reporting To: Senior Manager - Process, Project & Engineering

In this role, you will get the opportunity to lead and manage plant modification projects. Concurrently to work with operation team to set up user requirements, taking quotation for project cost estimation, raise MOC (Management of change) to get approval from all stakeholders, planning and arrange contractors to execute jobs, dealing and monitoring contractors, preparing documentation for project.

Key responsibilities

• Provide process and technical support to the operation promptly
• Manage process development and improvement in productivity, rates, yield and cost.
• Lead and provide technical support to engineering projects and NPI project
• Supervise boilermen for running and maintaining utility facilities including steam boilers, thermal oil heater, air compressors, cooling towers, water treatment & etc.
• Monitoring daily fuel, electricity & water consumption and take corrective actions when there is abnormal consumption.
• Compile/analyze energy consumption data and propose energy saving initiatives.
• Interface with other employees of Kerry from different functions and other sites to resolve problems and apply best practices
• Develop an understanding and applying technical skills to analyze process problems and troubleshooting
• In charge of special investigation of safety, environmental, quality and cost related projects
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of safety and quality management systems

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2nd upper class.
• Minimum 2 years experience roles involving oils & fats, oleochemicals processing, plant construction project, utilities and energy saving.
• Anticipate customer needs and give a high priority to customer satisfaction.
• A bonus to have exposure on AutoCAD and strong MS Excel skills
• Open to work in a plant/factory environment.
