We are seeking a strategic and experienced Sourcing and Procurement Manager to lead efforts in identifying, qualifying, and managing local suppliers to support our manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in reducing lead times, minimizing import dependencies, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring compliance with local content regulations and sustainability goals.
- Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute localization sourcing strategies aligned with production requirements, cost objectives, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and qualify local suppliers of Direct Material, Indirect Material, Equipment and Services, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Lead procurement activities focused on domestic sourcing, including RFQs, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier onboarding.
- Partner with engineering and quality teams to localize parts/components without compromising design or quality.
- Monitor supplier performance with respect to delivery, pricing, quality, and service levels implement continuous improvement plans as needed.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all local procurement meets regulatory and trade requirements (e.g., local content rules).
- Manage cost analysis, risk assessment, and savings tracking related to localization initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with local vendors and government agencies to stay informed on incentives, policies, and regulations.
- Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of procurement or sourcing experience, with at least 3 years in localization sourcing or local supplier development in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of local supplier markets, import substitution strategies , and cost modelling.
- Experience in negotiating contracts , vendor qualification, and supply chain risk management.
- Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
