Job Description

Job Purpose

The Product Development Manager leads the end-to-end lifecycle of engineered products—from concept to commercialization and continuous improvement. This role drives product innovation, engineering design, certification, manufacturing readiness, and lifecycle optimization to support global market expansion and long-term business goals.

The position requires strong expertise in product development, regulatory compliance, ERP systems, and cross-functional coordination, while reducing reliance on third-party designs and enhancing product competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development & Design

  • Lead full product lifecycle: concept, design, validation, and commercialization
  • Manage engineering design, BOM, material selection, and DFMEA
  • Ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, reliability, safety, and scalability
  • Drive continuous product innovation and improvements

2. Prototyping & Commercialization

  • Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation
  • Establish product qualification standards
  • Ensure smooth transition to mass production

3. Regulatory & Certification

  • Manage compliance (CE, PED, ASME)
  • Coordinate with certification bodies (e.g., LR, DNV, BV)
  • Ensure compliance is embedded early in design

4. CAD, PDM & Data Management

  • Use CAD tools (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks) for design and modeling
  • Manage drawings, revisions, and documentation via PDM/PLM systems

5. Automation & PLC Support

  • Support PLC-based systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • Collaborate on automation design and troubleshooting

6. Customer Engineering & Customization

  • Translate customer needs into practical engineering solutions
  • Ensure technical feasibility and product integrity

7. Commercial & Technical Support

  • Support sales, partners, and customers with technical expertise
  • Deliver product training and assist in proposals and presentations

8. Manufacturing Alignment

  • Ensure smooth transition to production
  • Optimize manufacturability, quality, and cost

9. ERP & Inventory Management

  • Manage product data, inventory, and procurement via ERP systems
  • Support production and after-sales planning

10. Product Lifecycle Management

  • Monitor product performance and warranty issues
  • Drive continuous improvement in reliability, cost, and performance

11. Operations & Team Leadership

  • Manage project timelines, priorities, and resources
  • Support hiring, mentoring, and team development

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or related)

Experience

  • 5–10 years in product development or engineering within industrial/manufacturing environments
  • Experience in full product lifecycle, certification, and commercialization
  • Background in industries such as oil & gas, industrial equipment, or process systems preferred

Technical Skills

  • CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks or equivalent)
  • PDM/PLM systems
  • PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • ERP systems for product and inventory management
