Job Description

The Product Owner / Project Delivery Manager is the bridge between strategic vision and technical execution. You are responsible for leading the delivery of a high-performance trading platform, ensuring that every sprint delivers tangible value to our global CFD and spread betting traders. Working closely with Product Managers and Engineering leads, you take ownership of the technical roadmap, translating complex business problems into elegant, scalable solutions. You are the heartbeat of the development squad, driving Agile excellence and ensuring our product is built for the long term.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the delivery of the trading platform roadmap, enhancing the experience for global CFD and spread betting traders
  • Translating complex business requirements into clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborating with engineering and architecture teams to understand the technology stack, influence architectural decisions, and ensure scalability
  • Managing the technical product backlog, prioritising tasks, guiding estimation, identifying dependencies, and addressing technical debt
  • Leading Agile ceremonies and fostering a collaborative culture within development teams and across the wider business community and strategy
  • Overseeing release management with QA, SRE, and engineering teams to ensure smooth and predictable deployments
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for development squads and communicating effectively with stakeholders on roadmap delivery and technical concepts

Requirements

Key Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical product role, ideally within Fintech, Trading, or high-transactional environments
  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture (APIs, Microservices, Cloud infrastructure)
  • Deep experience running Scrum or Kanban methodologies in a fast-paced, multi-squad environment
  • Strong ability to write clear, concise user stories and technical documentation that minimizes development rework
  • Logical, data-driven mindset with the ability to unblock technical teams by making rapid, informed trade-offs
  • Ability to manage expectations, negotiate and compromise with stakeholders to protect the squad's focus and delivery quality

Performance Measures

  • Sprint Velocity & Predictability: The squad consistently meets its sprint commitments with minimal spillover or unplanned work
  • Time to Market: Time between a requirement being finalized and the feature being deployed to production
  • Technical Health: Maintaining a healthy balance of the backlog, evidenced by the regular reduction of technical debt and a low bug-to-feature ratio in production
  • Requirement Quality: Measured by a low volume of blocked tickets or developer clarification requests during active sprints
  • Cross-Squad Alignment: Successful management of dependencies with other verticals, ensuring no other squad is stalled waiting for your team's delivery
