Job Description

Job Title: Production Engineer (Steel Manufacturing)

Position Type: Full Time

Working Days & Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.45pm

Location: On-site

Candidates with minimum 1 year of working experience in a manufacturing environment are welcome to apply. Experience in steel, metal, or heavy industries is preferred, though candidates from other related manufacturing industries are also welcome.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive 5S implementation by conducting audits, developing standards, training staff, and ensuring continuous workplace improvement.
  • Drive production process improvement through Kaizen initiatives by identifying waste, optimizing workflows, standardizing processes, and improving productivity and quality performance.
  • Manage multi-ethnic production teams through effective supervision, coaching, scheduling, communication, and performance management.
  • Monitor and analyse production KPIs, prepare performance reports, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend improvement actions.
  • Ensure manufacturing floor safety compliance through inspections, risk assessments, incident investigation, EHS documentation, and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or above in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-3 years or above in manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of independently leading 5S and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Experience managing multi-ethnic production teams.
  • Experience creating and operating work instructions, SOPs, and checklists.
  • Microsoft Excel — intermediate level or above (data compilation, reporting).
  • Basic knowledge of quality management tools (QC 7 Tools, root cause analysis).
  • Experience operating under ISO 9001 / ISO 45001 (advantageous).
  • Practical knowledge of steel/metal fabrication processes (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in MANDARIN is an advantage, as the role involves engaging with Mandarin speaking clients.
